“Poetry is the evidence that for ages people have survived through pain”
Poetry is a genre that is subjected to the interpretation of the reader. ‘Chasing Sunsets’ can refer to someone who is looking for a closure or awaiting a new chapter in life.
The poetry pieces are categorised into sections namely – Cyclic emotions, Denial, Breaking Point and Acceptance. They can be referred to phases a person undergoes while grieving.
I really liked the micro-poems in this anthology. Some abstract, some descriptive, yet conveyed a lot about the author’s feeling. Feelings of longing, resentment and insecurity.
There were issues in the way, poetry pieces were framed. It was difficult to connect the verses to see the real picture. Metaphors were exaggerated to a great extent and the essence was lost.
However, the anthology will be a good fit for new readers who want to explore the genre of poetry.
