Hearstopper Vol 4

“Sometimes people need more support than just one person can give. That’s love darling”

Heartstopper Vol 4

Charlie feels flustered when he wants to confess that he is in love with Nick. Meanwhile, Nick studies Charlie’s symptoms online and comes to a conclusion that he has an eating disorder. Charlie wonders as to how will he spend three weeks without Nick. David still tries to make Nick’s life difficult whilst Charlie’s mom sets ground rules. How will Nick and Charlie manage to navigate the ebbs and highs of their relationship?

‘Heartstopper Vol 4’ aims to create an awareness about various spectrum of mental illness rather than focusing on Charlie and Nick’s relationship.

Much like the previous book, the book sheds light upon the difficulty the members of each section of LGBTQ community have to face to come out.It may be internal conflict, a regressive culture or even opposition from their family. I loved how supportive were the members of Charlie’s family towards his relationship. Tori was all about sass while beneath the interior of a fierce, confident girl Darcy was someone who was brought up in a homophobic environment. This volume, in a step-by-step way, guides the readers as to how to approach someone suffering from mental health disorders and seek help when it’s necessary. It also takes us through Charlie’s mental health journey and how Nick is affected by it.
