She too begins to notices him and develops hots for him. Shubho and Athreyee spend quality time secretly sneaking out from their girlfriend and husband respectively.
The narrative is smooth and free flowing. The author has elucidated the nuances of human relationship beautifully in words. The plot captures the spirit of Kolkata, it’s liveliness during the auspicious occasion of Navratri and the slumber post it while waiting for the occasion to arrive next year. The cultural extravaganza has been vividly described.
A man waits for an elderly gentleman, Dibakar Roy hiding behind a pole opposite to a bank with bated breath. He has opium in his mouth which sends him to a state of delirium. The past materialises in front of his eyes, making him uneasy. Armed with a gun, he has lost faith in the system and has decided to take the matter in his own hands. Taking careful measured steps, he fires at him. Why did a dutiful officer in forces tread the path of revenge?
This story brought out a different side of love, the one that is seeking vengeance for closure. The scenes were brought out to life by the writing style. The narrative keeps shifting back and forth between the past and the present. Both of them were interlinked well. The setting was constructed in such a manner that the suspense was kept in wraps till the very end.

Oh so interesting! It’s cool how it’s a series but the books don’t seem to relate at all. I also like how they are not your traditional love stories. The Mask seemed most interesting to me. Cool roundup!
Cheers xx
